In 1976, out of necessity and frustration with the job market, our founder Henry Escajeda, a power-line construction lineman decided to venture into the world with a new contractors license, one old pickup truck and a tool belt. From these humble beginnings, E.E. Electric, Inc. grew into a family business that has weathered the trials and tribulations of a volatile construction market.
E.E. Electric started as a one man shop with its first contracts in residential electrical repairs and subcontracting on custom homes. In the fertile market of the late 1970's, Inland Empire commercial and light industrial projects soon followed and eventually E.E. Electric became the primary electrical contractor for a major children's clothing store, The Little Folks Shop whose stores were located in major malls through out Southern California.
In 1983 after numerous attempts to break into larger markets, E.E. Electric, Inc landed a large streetlight conversion project for Southern California Edison out of the Montebello area. E.E. Electric took on the challenge successfully and Henry steered the company back to his roots in power line construction.
Becoming a qualified electrical supplier for Southern California Edison, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, City of Riverside, City of Pasadena and numerous other local utilities, E.E. Electric was firmly on its way. Under Henry's direction E.E. Electric entered into the high voltage power line market working in California and Nevada performing overhead and underground work as well as the construction of substations.
In over 25 years our "mom & pop" shop has grown into a company with annual sales of nearly three million dollars with a payroll as high as forty qualified electrical workers at one time. The company has had the privilege of working for many electrical utilities as well as the armed forces including Fort Irwin, AGCC Twenty-Nine Palms, MCLB Barstow, Nellis Air Base and the Mercury Test Site, NV among others.
E. E. Electric is a California resident, minority owned business and 8(A) program graduate with the principle stockholders making all the day to day operation decisions. We are licensed in California and Nevada, certified as a minority business enterprise by the minority clearinghouse and other agencies. Copies of certificates are available on request.
